BATTLESHIP
How to Play
Introduction
Battle your way to victory in this classic strategy game of BATTLESHIP. Your mission is to sink all of the enemy's warships before they destroy yours. This game requires strategic thinking, patience, and a bit of luck.
Gameplay
1. Setup: The game board consists of a grid with 10 rows and 10 columns. Each player places their ships on their grid by clicking on the desired cell. Ships are represented by longer cells than the individual grid cells. The player can place ships horizontally or vertically but not diagonally.
2. Playing the Game: Players take turns trying to sink each other's ships by guessing the location of the ships on the opponent's grid. Enter a row and column number to make your guess. If your guess is correct, the ship is sunk, and you'll see a visual indicator on the board.
3. End of Game: The game ends when one player has sunk all of the opponent's ships.
Controls
Use the mouse to navigate the game board. Click on a cell to make a guess. Pressing 'Enter' after clicking will also confirm your guess.
Tips
- Think Strategically: Place your ships in a way that limits your opponent's options and forces them to guess more often.
- Keep Track: Note which cells you've guessed and mark them if they're misses to avoid guessing the same location twice.
- Focus on the Big Picture: Sometimes, guessing the corners or edges can give you valuable information about the placement of larger ships.
FAQ
How do I place my ships?
Place your ships horizontally or vertically on the game board without overlapping with each other.
Can I move my ships after placing them?
No, once you place your ships, you cannot move or rotate them.
How do I attack my opponent's ships?
Select a coordinate on the opponent's board to fire. Hits are revealed, and if a ship is hit, it sinks and cannot be hit again in the same turn.
What are the possible outcomes of a shot?
You can hit a ship, miss the ship, or hit a previously hit ship, which is considered a 'splash' and can sink adjacent ships.
How do I know if I've won?
You win by sinking all of your opponent's ships. The game ends when all ships have been destroyed or if no more moves are possible without hitting a ship that has already been hit.
